Mature Females
Pictured below are some of the most influential females that are in, or have contributed to, the Wallawong herd.
Current females of note
We consider all females in the Wallawong herd as being capable of breeding industry relevant, commercially desirable seedstock. However, there are always females that shine above others.
Young cows that continue to impress include, Wallawong Overture 40th (LEJ A4), Wallawong Aletta (LEJ Y35), Wallawong Aletta 2nd (LEJ B8), Wallawong Miss Impressive 9th (LEJ Y11).
Current mature females that have cemented their position in the herd by producing total progeny sales >$10,000 include Wallawong Dawn 8th (LEJ X24), Wallawong Alma 14th (LEJ V45), Cobbora Springs Caldora U4 (CSP U4), Wallawong Overture 10th (LEJ S10), Wallawong Duchess (LEJ U15), and Wallawong Dawn 6th (LEJ W18).
Females that have shaped the herd
Mt View Valdawn (JC Q69)
Valdawn was an exceptionally influential female. She was purchased in 1999, she continued to breed well and was sold as a 12 year old. She produced 5 sons that sold to commercial breeders, topping at $7,000 and averaging $3,600. Her total progeny sales amount to almost $20,000. Valdawn had one heifer retained and we continue to use embryos that were collected prior to her leaving. More Information and photographs click here
Willalooka Caldora P149 (AM P149)
The Caldora family line was introduced in 2004, with the purchase of Willalooka Caldora P149 and daughter Cobbora Springs Caldora U4. Between them they have proved to be producers of highly desirable offspring, having the top priced bull at the 2007 sale, and top priced heifer at the 2008 sale. Furthermore, Caldora P149 was the dam of our successful 2008 Brisbane Royal steer exhibit. Between the two females they have sold $17,000 worth of progeny in the last 3 years. They have also produced Wallawong Quarterback, with calves due in 2009. We continue to use embryos that were collected prior to her leaving. More Information and photographs click here
Cratloe Gale M22 (CIB M22)
Gale was introduced in 1999 to specifically join to GF Rammer. This mating was achieved with the excellent breeder, Wallawong Gale 2nd, being produced. Gale M22 went on to produce 8 progeny for us, including 4 sale bulls. Her sales totalled nearly $11,000 with 2 females currently retained in the herd. More Information and photographs click here
